Connecticut State Police received 1,970 calls for service, assisted 156 motorists, responded to 109 accidents Friday, considered the start of the Memorial Day long weekend.

State police said there were seven reported injuries, but no reported deaths.
Troopers made 10 impaired driving arrests, issued 154 speeding citations and 69 seat belt violations, state police said.
There were also 113 citations for unsafe travel violation issues including: unsafe lane change, following too closely, failing to move and other violations.

The statistics reflect the period beginning at midnight and ending at 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, state police said.
