Body identified in “suspicious” death of Somers | Connecticut News



SOMERS, CT (WFSB) – Jason Comes was found dead inside a car on a road in Somers. His death is qualified as suspicious.

The chief medical examiner’s office is investigating the cause of death.

“This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be provided as new information becomes available,” the soldiers said in a press release.

Investigators said the body and vehicle were found on a dirt road off Durkee Road.

Police first arrived at the scene at around 10 a.m. on Thursday. Although they cleared the scene later that evening, the road remained blocked on Friday.

Durkee Road was closed between Springfield and Four Bridges Road.

Authorities have also focused their attention on a nearby wooded area.

In early Thursday evening, police took out a dog and placed a tent over the car.

“There is no threat to the public and this appears to be an isolated incident. We have few details at this time,” CT State Police Sgt. said Dawn Pagan.

The Eastern District Major Crimes Unit is investigating the case.

“There is an ongoing investigation,” Pagan said.
