After ten long months, the historic Exeter Inn at 90 Front Street will reopen to customers on July 1. According to the hostel Facebook, Exeter’s historic staple opened in 1932. The hostel is a short walk from the center of Exeter with its historic shops and museums.
According to a press release from Jason Schreiber, a correspondent for union leaders, the hostel served as a dormitory for faculty and students at Phillips Exeter Academy during the pandemic. This made sense as the hostel gave the school more space to distribute students and faculty when they returned to campus for the 2020-21 school year. The academy is very grateful for the partnership as it has enabled its staff and students to comfortably adhere to Covid guidelines.
At the same time, the popular Epoch Gastropub, located in the hotel, will also open its doors to diners! If you were curious about the word Epoch and its origin, Epoch is defined as “A notable event which marks the beginning of a remarkable or remarkable time”. As part of its reopening, Epoch will offer a new menu, a spacious and beautiful terrace. (which will seat 36 guests and will include a fire pit and live grill station) interior updates and the addition of a second bar in the Exeter Room! How exciting!
