WILTON, CT – Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8 is still weeks away, but if you’re planning to treat your mom to brunch or dinner out, reservations can fill up quickly in Wilton as the nation nears the most normal celebration of moms since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Local restaurants in the Wilton area have taken a financial hit during the pandemic and could use the business. Some are closed so that their employees can support their own mothers or be pampered by their children, but here are some options:
Bianco Rosso, 151 Old Ridgefield Road
A few chain restaurants and other restaurants in the area are open for Mother’s Day this year, and some are offering specials.
Below are two options to get you started, ranging from casual to fine dining. As always, it’s a good idea to call ahead to make sure area restaurants are participating and to inquire about any restrictions or limitations related to COVID-19.
Applebee’s in Danbury is adding a $10 bonus card with the purchase of a $50 gift card for Mother’s Day and other special occasions, including graduations and Father’s Day.
The Capital Grille in Stamford is accepting reservations for Mother’s Day. The restaurant included a “courtesy notice” on its booking page stating that “to better deliver on our promise of a fine dining atmosphere, proper dress is required.” This excludes sportswear, sweatpants, tank tops, hats, clothing with offensive language or imagery, and exposed underwear.
