Don’t you just hate sending your resume to companies that are hiring and getting absolutely no response? We’re sure everyone hates it. Unfortunately, the global pandemic has not helped anyone find a job.
Portfolio Center recently created a survey that shows which states are best and which are worst for jobs. Let’s just say we don’t live in the bigger states. Portfolio Center created the survey by comparing each state using several key metrics. Some of the main keys were âlabor market strength, opportunities and a healthy economyâ.
The state of Pennsylvania is considered one of the worst states for employment. According to the survey shared on Portfolio Center, Pennsylvania is the 3rd worst employment state in the country overall.
Two other broad categories shared on the Wallet Hub survey were labor market and business environment.
- Labor Market – Pennsylvania was in 38th place
- Economic environment – Pennsylvania was 2nd worst in 48th place.
The state of New Jersey overall landed in the middle of the overall survey in 24th place, according to Portfolio Center. Seems like it’s always hard to find work if you ask me. As for the other two categories, Job Market and Economic Environment, the Garden State ranked 2nd for the Economic Environment and 44 for the Job Market. So not too good in the labor market category.
The shared survey on Portfolio Center also showed that New Jersey is the 4th state with “highest median annual income” and 3rd for “longest time spent commuting.”
